Is "Hover Boarding" the New Way of Transportation?

                                                                                                 




I am choosing to do my blog on MonoRover R2. MonoRover R2 is the latest and greatest new invention, people have been referring to it as the Hover Board and using it as a new form of transportation. The MonoRover is like a Segway in the sense that you use your body to move the board in the direction that you want the board to go.

MonoRover's mission is to provide a new type of transportation that is easy, high quality, that combines speed and efficiency. They ask a simple question, "What don’t you like about your current mode of transportation? Is it paying for gas? Is it sweating on a bike through traffic? Is it feeling exhausted after walking for miles?" (http://www.monorover.com/what-is-monorover/).  They want to cut all of that out by investing in there product.

Strengths:
This is a revolutionary idea. A one of a kind product. There marketing strategies have a lot to do with word of mouth and now by Celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Blake Griffin, JR Smith, Wiz Khalifa, and Karim Benzema using it and showing it off. 


Weakness: 
They have no real advertisements at the moment. The real reason I found out what MonoRover was about was through Social Media via celebrities using them. It is a very new product, therefore I will continue to follow the business and see how the continue to progress as the popularity continues to grow on the boards.

Conclusion:

While MonoRover seems to be a revolutionary idea, with unlimited potential, there marketing tactic's are extremely sub-par. Quiet possibly this could be MonoRover's marketing tecniquie buy targeting Celebrities to use them. In this case it is a great marketing strategy because of invested today's population is what are the Celb's doing now? By targeting celebrities, it makes the cost of advertising extremely low because they don't have to do any extra promoting other than having the celb's use it. I can attest to the fact that during the NBA finals I watched JR Smith roll into his locker room on a MonoRover and from that day have wanted one. We will see where MonoRover progresses from here.
